TASTING NOTES:
Smooth, sweet and nutty. With hints of almond, brown sugar, milk chocolate, orange and red apple.
ESPRESSO INSTRUCTIONS:
- Measure and Grind: Measure 18-20 grams of Supreme coffee beans and grind them to a fine consistency, similar to table salt.
- Preheat: Turn on your espresso machine and let it heat up fully. Preheat your espresso cup with hot water, then empty it.
- Dose and Tamp: Place the coffee in the portafilter, level and tamp it with consistent pressure to ensure an even surface.
- Extract: Lock the portafilter into the machine’s group head and start the extraction. Aim for a 25-30 second extraction time for a double shot (1.5-2 ounces).
- Serve: Serve the espresso immediately in the preheated cup and enjoy the rich, robust flavors of Supreme.
V60 FILTER INSTRUCTIONS:
- Measure and Grind: Measure 15 grams (about 2 tablespoons) of Supreme coffee beans for a single cup. Grind the beans to a medium-coarse consistency, similar to sea salt.
- Preheat and Rinse: Boil water and let it cool to around 200°F (93°C). Place the V60 dripper on top of your mug or server. Place a paper filter in the dripper and rinse it with hot water to remove any paper taste and preheat the dripper. Discard the rinse water.
- Add Coffee: Add the ground coffee to the rinsed filter, gently shaking the dripper to level the grounds.
- Bloom: Start by pouring a small amount of hot water (about 30 grams) over the grounds to saturate them evenly. Let it bloom for 30 seconds, allowing the coffee to degas and release its aromas.
- Brew: Continue pouring the rest of the water in a slow, circular motion, maintaining a consistent pour rate. Aim for a total of 250 grams (about 8.5 ounces) of water. The entire brewing process should take around 2.5 to 3 minutes.
- Serve: Once the water has completely drained through the filter, remove the dripper and enjoy the clean, nuanced flavors of your Colombia Supremo V60 coffee.
FRENCH PRESS INSTRUCTIONS:
- Measure and Grind: Measure 56 grams (about 8 tablespoons) of Supreme coffee beans for a 1-liter French press. Grind the beans to a coarse consistency, similar to breadcrumbs.
- Preheat: Boil water and let it cool for 30 seconds to reach around 200°F (93°C). Preheat the French press by rinsing it with hot water, then discard the water.
- Add Coffee and Water: Add the ground coffee to the French press. Pour in 1 liter (about 34 ounces) of hot water, ensuring all the grounds are saturated.
- Stir and Steep: Stir the mixture with a wooden spoon or spatula to ensure even extraction. Place the lid on the French press with the plunger pulled up. Let it steep for 4 minutes.
- Press and Serve: After 4 minutes, slowly press the plunger down to separate the grounds from the coffee. Pour the brewed coffee into your cup immediately to prevent over-extraction and enjoy the rich, robust flavors of Supreme.
